What Would Gaia Think?

Krugman can’t be an idiot. They wouldn’t give him a Nobel Prize if he was, would they? No matter. I’m guessing Gaia not only doesn’t give a rat’s ass what Krugman thinks, she doesn’t even know what the Royal Swedish Academy and the Karolinska Institutet are, she didn’t see Al Gore’s movie and she didn’t vote for Obama. But I’m guessing, if she knew what they were, she’d think carbon offsets are dumb.

Krugman can’t be an idiot. They wouldn’t give him a Nobel Prize if he was, would they?
In my personal experience, offkilter people (and by “offkilter”, I mean our current definition of insane) can seem perfectly balanced and normal when they want to., i.e., when they correctly read the wants and needs of the people they mean to snow. I suspect there are also vast swaths of people who are (1) innocent/naive, (2) for their own reasons want to be snowed, or (3) just as insane as the offkilter scam artist. I put the administrators of the Nobel Prizes (with the possible exception of the hard sciences) in this unfortunately wide, and growing, sector.
