Violent KKK fugitive surprised, goes quietly when arrested in Jewish homeland by Israeli immigration cops. OK, that’s all kinds of ironic, that a raving racist American nutjob thought Israel was the place to go to ground. Can’t wait to hear why. I bet all the other white supremacists will laugh at him. Either that, or they’ll think he was some kind of neo-Nazi genius. Except, you know, the getting caught part.* Meanwhile, it’s yet another no-nonsense tutorial from Israel. This time, it’s what you do with border-hopping foreign undesireables. You arrest them. Jerusalem Post:
A high-ranking white supremacist on the run from US federal authorities was arrested on Monday night in a south Tel Aviv hideout.
33-year-old Micky Louis Mayon, one of America’s 100 Most Wanted criminals, and a member of the Ku Klux Klan, was arrested in a Florentine apartment by the National Immigration Authority’s newly formed Oz enforcement unit.
Mayon is wanted in the US on charges of racist assaults, setting fire to vehicles belonging to federal agents, and a host of violence incidents.
The Oz unit was acting on intelligence relayed by Interpol, which informed authorities here that Mayon had entered Israel illegally.
He is said to have moved apartments often in order to evade police, but his efforts proved fruitless on Monday when a delicate operation by the Oz unit saw officers break into his hideout and arrest him.
Oz unit members have the powers of a police officer but can only use them in cases of illegal entry into the country.
They have a unit that is actually supposed to track down and arrest illegals? What a novel concept. “Oz” is a good name for it, because from an American perspective, it’s definitely over the rainbow. Around here, local police chiefs have called up the feds to report they have illegals in custody on criminal charges, and can’t get the time of day. I wonder if there is any political push in Israel to give their illegals drivers licenses, health care and university educations, that kind of thing. That would have made this guy’s lam a lot easier.
He reportedly had a one-way ticket to Israel, which is how they knew where to look for him. It’ll be interesting to find out whether he entered as a tourist and overstayed, or if he actually declared “I am a Jew” and took advantage of that unique and sometimes controversial Israeli immigration loophole.

Actually, his going to Israel isn’t as crazy as it sounds. He probably figured that was the last place the authorities would look for him. He just forgot about the Israelis themselves, though.

I read the Telegraph article about this; Mayon was turned in by his Isreali girlfriend.
After he told her about his past.
After he found out she was pregnant.
