Bad O-men

Entrails of chickens, rotten! Reports of a three-legged cow born in the hills! Dire portents!

They campaigned for each other, wanted to make sure you knew how much they are like each other. And the historic, ground-breaking, popular reforming outsider, gaffe-prone, tax-hiking, hack-enabling tenure of Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, kicking off two years ahead of Obama’s presidency, has proven to be a good set of goat guts upon which to read Obama’s fortunes.

Now, as news has emerged of Obama and his policies dipping below 50 percent, Patrick is tanking. Compliments of my adversaries at the Boston Globe, he’s down to 36 percent approval, with 52 percent disapproval, in the wake of his failure to reform the corrupt nepotists on Beacon Hill, with a 25 percent sales tax hike about to take effect. At which point … I feel a vision coming on, dread occurences, wailing and much gnashing of teeth … his numbers will really start going down the toilet.

Not a good sign for Obama. Lamentation and woe!
