Change!
Via HotAir, female black Cambridge cop to CNN re Obama: “I supported him. I voted for him. I will not again.”
Kelly King doesn’t appreciate the president of the United States taking sides in support of a friend without the facts. Me, either. About the president’s friend, Henry Louis “Skip” Gates Jr., she doesn’t appreciate the ”rush to judgment,” and the “smokescreen” of kneejerk racism. I didn’t much appreciate that, either, though I did enjoy watching it blow up in his face after he took his show on the road, with demands that Crowley grovel.
Allahpundit heralds King’s reaction as a sign of a post-racial society. I’d second that, and add that if there’s going to be A Teaching Moment, she sounds like a qualified instructor. Crowley should take her along for beers at Obama’s.
Maguire, meanwhile, is mulling Obama’s problem with working-class white males. Hey, if what I do as a unionized low-brow knuckle-dragging tabloid wage slave wasn’t too much fun to be called work, I’d consider myself part of that oppressed minority.
G’day Punditeers, Blairites, etal. Always so good to see you. We’re also mulling Enemy Capabilities and Which Part of “Great Satan” they don’t get.

I’d name Ms. King by her police title, if I knew what it was, but what she and Sgt. Lashley did took a lot of courage. They’re bucking against a particularly vocal, and unintrospective, part of their community because they believe in a larger truth: that this is America, and we are all Americans living according to the law of the land, irrespective of race, religion, gender orientation, political belief, and all the rest of it. If Professor Gates were honest at all, he’d recognize that, and publicly acknowledge it.
