Weakness Is Strength!
Obama on the new missile defense stance of the United States, via WSJ. Neptunus Lex is getting an Orwell feel off this bit:
“After an extensive process, I have approved the unanimous recommendations of my secretary of defense and my joint chiefs of staff to strengthen America’s defenses against ballistic-missile attack.”
Right on! That’s putting the “O” into Orwell, the “Doh” into Missile Defense.
Seriously though, Obama should be applauded for addressing this critical area in his continuing effort to dispense with Bush-era policies and put his own stamp on foreign policy, in keeping with his goals of improving the better-likedness of the United States among foreign despots. The Euros and assorted other dissidents may grumble, but they’ll see the wisdom and logic of it.
Ha, caught one! It’s Boehner, via The Hill: Killing missile shield was ill-advised.
