Neanderthal Pride
CNN: Grayson calls Republicans “knuckle-dragging Neanderthals.”
Look, I really don’t want to get into the anti-Neanderthalism, though I think it’s deplorable we can’t have a political discussion in this country without people resorting to overt species-ist attacks.
But if being a Neanderthal, or dragging digits, is something that they want to disparage with partisan cheapshots, then homo sapiens though I may be, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with my theoretically extinct low-browed slope-shouldered fellow hominids.
I am a Neanderthal.
Say it loud, say it proud. I AM A NEANDERTHAL!
I’d like to congratulate Grayson on all the free national publicity he’s getting, though. Not bad for a coconut-brained baboon from Disneyworld.*
Meanwhile, another reason why getting your deep-thot from people who haven’t seen 30 yet is a bad idea. Yglesias apparently isn’t aware the last eight years happened:
I think the real issue—and the real import—of Grayson’s statement is that it involved breaking one of the unspoken rules of modern American politics. The rule is that conservatives talk about their causes in stark, moralistic terms and progressives don’t.
Do the words “Bush lied, people died” mean anything to you? “No blood for oil” was a good one. Stark, yet splattered with moralism. “Racist!” There’s another one. That’s more explosively condemnatory, I think.
Pelosi, via The Hill: Do as we demand, not as we don’t:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says there’s no reason for Rep. Alan Grayson to apologize for his “Die quickly” remark, since Republicans have made statements just as outrageous as his.
Malkin examines Grayson’s source material … on the death by health care thing, not the paleoanthropology. Turns out, much like him, it’s some biased nonsense out of Harvard.
* Who is a Harvard Law-trained war profiteer. No offense intended to baboons.

Gee, I’m not a Republican Jules, but as a conservative I guess I’d be included in the knuckle-dragging Neandertholic meme. I mean afterall, if brains such as Grayson are liberal Democrats it HAS to be something for us more troglodyte [a person of degraded, primitive, or brutal character.] types to aspire too. Right?
[/sarcasm]
{Note: Definition of troglodyte provided for those who are liberal, but have a government education and may not know what it means}

Keep fighting the good fight, Mr. C. You give me hope that there are some sane people left.

I’d reply to Grayson’s remark, but I have to go bandage my knuckles.
