Nuke News

NYT cites an IAEA draft report that Iran has the data to produce a workable A-bomb.* NYT seems to be of the opinion that United States intelligence agencies thought Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program in 2003, and that they are now re-evaluating to allow that perhaps those activities had resumed. Which is a bit of a surprise, seeing as that was widely reported two years ago during the original NIE flap.

Don’t worry, if you fear some precipitous and dangerous brinksmanship with Iran. NYT reports the IAEA draft is not ready to be published as an official document. Which is good, because the president of the United States isn’t ready to do anything about it.  That pretty much leaves the Israelis, but at this point any plans they had must be on hold while they consult the rabbis on whether it’s kosher to attack another Jewish state.

More on the IAEA report at Powerline.

Jennifer Rubin at Commentary: “Why don’t we know what they know?”

* What do you expect? Those Jews are clever, you know. Einstein, Oppenheimer, Ahmadinejad. (In the latest hurtful cheap shot at Iranian President Moishe Ahmadinejad, BTW, Gandelman at The Moderate Voice wants to know if he hankers for Chinese food.)
