Low-Road Lynching

In the high-tech era. Take it away, Mark Steyn, “Monday Morning Quarter-Backtrack,” and Andy McCarthy, “So Much for the Post-Racial America.”  ESPN: Bogus Sharpton/Jackson smear campaign gains yardage on Rushing. Rush Limbaugh to withdraw from a partnership to buy the St. Louis Rams due to his status as a negative publicity magnet. OK, that’s not exactly how ESPN put it, prefering to report simply some follow-on aspects of the successful smear campaign.

Hey, where’s Obama with the backyard beers when you need him?

Oh … right. All racial smears are not equal, and the bogus racial smearing of a high-profile meanspirited white conservative isn’t the same thing as doing it to a Cambridge cop who runs the racial-profiling class. Malkin notes that the president of the United States has a history of Rush-bashing himself. Don’t expect him to get post-racial this time.

Irony abounds. Make that, more irony abounds:

Riehl: National Felons and Liberals

Gateway: Liars win!

Maguire: No Fun League punts! The owners prefer to stay out of the limelight when not adging for public handouts. Limelight is for wife-beating, drug-using, dog-fighting, drunk-driving players!

Powerline: Olbermann, still employed.

Legal Insurrection: Sharpton for NFL commissioner!

Vid and commentary at HotAir.

FireDogLake: Discriminating against white conservatives rocks! (What the heck is a FireDogLake, anyway? Sounds soggy, irritable.)

A little different, not unrelated. Surber: Are Mormons the new blacks? It’s a weird question, but these are weird times. Surber notes that claiming kinship with the 1960s civil rights movement are all the rage, and he asks, can’t we all just get along?

Interesting, not unrelated. Race-baiting fails to win votes. OK, that’s not exactly how HotAir put it: Dems worried that low turnout among blacks will cost them the House.
