Mock As We Say!

Not as we do!

Lefties resort to sexism vs. empowered woman! Again! (Caution: Don’t try this with the sitting president) Entertainment Weekly

Going Rouge is compiled by Richard Kim and Betsy Reed, two top editors of the left-leaning weekly The Nation, and includes essays by Nation regulars like Katrina vanden Heuvel, Naomi Klein, and Katha Pollitt. It’s the first release from OR Books, a fledgling outfit founded earlier this year by publishing veterans John Oakes and Colin Robinson that “embraces progressive change in politics, culture and the way we do business,” according to its website.

I realize that this anti-Palin book is a paperback and probably won’t be stocked anywhere near Palin’s hardcover memoir in bookstores, but are these jackets look too similar to be, well, fully kosher? At the very least, might some hockey-mom-loving conservatives be confused enough to pick up the wrong book? You betcha!

Such a good joke, they’re all telling it:

UPDATE: It seems that OR Books isn’t unique in its attempt to capitalize on Sarah Palin’s upcoming memoir, Going Rogue — nor in rearranging the letters of the title for its own effort. Cartoonist Julie Sigwart and political satirist Micheal Stinson are self-publishing Going Rouge: The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring & Activity Book, a 48-page paperback that will be released Nov. 17 (the same day as the G.O.P. firebrand’s autobiography as well as OR Books’ anti-Palin essay collection, also titled Going Rouge). The sample pages on the book’s promotional website fall clearly into the realm of political satire, including a coloring page with lipsticks and pigs (naturally) and a caricature of Palin in fishing overalls and possible “fishing gear”: a gun, a saw, an ax, and a bomb.

It’s OK. Making fun of a powerful self-made woman of backwoods origins is good clean fun!* Just don’t make the mistake of trying to have a good time with Obama’s origins. That’s not funny!

Looks like satire stops at the cover with The Nation’s essay selection, which apparently is an opportunity to rewhine, though I haven’t read any of those lefty screeds. Let me know if you have and any of them have any entertainment value. The coloring book actually is satire. If a little heavy handed. “Fishing gear” includes a bomb?

OK, let’s try it with Barry. “Schemes of My Father: The Barack Obama Coloring & Activity Book.”

The sample pages on the book’s promotional website fall clearly into the realm of political satire, including a coloring page with goats (naturally) and a caricature of Obama in a turban and possible “Islamic gear”: a gun, a rusty scimitar, a videocam and a bomb.

Ha ha! They’re right, it is fun!

… oh, right, I forgot, not funny:

It’s mock as we say, not as we do.

The two “Going Rouge” efforts unfortunately aren’t listed at Amazon yet. But you can get your “Going Rogue” here.

In other Palin developments, Deceiver.com: Cracker vs. Snacker

* Making fun of pols and their origins, personal foibles was traditionally as American as apple pie. Harkens back to historic mockery of hayseeds like Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln, chimp look-alikes such as George Bush, and his silver-spoonfed dad. I thought in the Obama enlightenment, we had advanced beyond hurtful attacks that smack of vile discrimination. Apparently not. Attacking a pol’s teen daughter and mocking the mentally disabled child might be a bit much, though. Hopefully these lefty stabs in satire stop short of that.

Jules, it’s ok to mock anyone who is on the right. It’s either racist or insulting to mock any of the progressive elements in society. Therefore, to mock our Dear Leader, The One upon whom the heavens rest is racist and insulting.

On the other hand, the left truly fears any woman who is everything they believe is what feminism is about, except of course one who is of either conservative or of a libertarian bent. ie. Michelle Malkin, Sarah Palin, Liz Cheney, Ann Coulter (whom I find a bit abrasive), Laura Ingraham, etc. Those women are obviously confused, or misled about what is important and thus must be slimed repeatedly.

It isn’t so much that they’re mocking Sarah Palin. It’s that they’re mocking all the Americans who are like her, and the more they do it, the angrier those Americans get.

Hey!! Some of (as young men, of course) fished with dynamite and other high explosives. What’s wrong with that?

And Lefties are incredibly thin-skinned because they’ve been swathed in the comfort of the MSM for decades. They’re unused to the cold wind of actual satire or mockery. “It hurts!! It hurts!! Mommy, make them stop!!”

Conservatives, OTOH, are thick-skinned because they’ve had to learn to be.

As for ‘feminists’ who go after non-Lefty strong women, well I’m tempted to say, “Woe upon you when the awful wrath of truly independent strong-willed women falls upon you and your puny ideology. The Day of Wrath approachetth. Make yourself ready and prepare to meet your Doom!!”

I’m not Jeremiah, but I’ve grown up and lived with strong women and I know what’s it like when you finally push them too far.

Not that I’m like Patton or anything, but still…Let’s see how they handle the next few years.

Dear Reader can’t stand to be laughed at.
Please do as much as possible to get under his skin. (can I say that? I didn’t mention the hue)

Rush may be on to something about watching who the left goes after hardest, it’s who they fear the most.
