Warmal Gloating

Booyah!* … UK Telegraph.

BBC: Hacking is wrong and issues have two sides!

UK Telegraph … Booyah!

NYT: Hacking fuels skeptics! Hacking can be embarrassingly revealing, but may eventually lead to a plausible explanation, because “trick” doesn’t mean “deception” and we’re still working on “hide the decline” because we’re convinced the body of evidence shows … (OK, what’s the trick when you need to hide the decline. Lessee, maybe the scientists we just interviewed who confirmed they wrote these emails but hadn’t come up with a good excuse yet can help here. When they do.)

Booyah! … UK Telegraph.

Charles Johnson: Just in case you hadn’t noticed that I’ve completely lost my mind, let me explain how benign “trick” and “hide the decline” are. By the way, here’s the trick for hiding the other parts I decline to address. I just don’t mention them. More important, revealing decline-hiding tricksterism is really bad. But don’t take my word for it. Here’s RealClimate noting there was no mention of George Soros or vegetarians anywhere in those emails.

UK Telegraph … Booyah

UK Guardian:

The alleged emails illustrate the persistent pressure some climatologists have been under from sceptics in recent years.

Yeah, bummer. Booyah!

“I will be emailing the journal to tell them I’m having nothing more to do with it until they rid themselves of this troublesome editor.”.”“It results from this journal having a number of editors. The responsible one for this is a well-known skeptic in NZ. He has let a few papers through by Michaels and Gray in the past. I’ve had words with Hans von Storch about this, but got nowhere. Another thing to discuss in Nice!”

… via UK Telegraph.

OK, I could do this all night. But this is about the science. So here’s Tim Blair with an important scientific warmening poll. I don’t want to skew the results, so don’t read this if you don’t want to be unscientifically influenced before voting, but I voted “Are you QUESTIONING THE SCIENCE?” I’m pleased, though a little disappointed, to report that few of his readers at last check were taking this opportunity to engage in cheap, hurtful mockery by voting likewise.

Reynolds, meanwhile, though never lacking fire, remains judicious about sparking it up. He’s maintaining a small carbon footprint on this one for now:

“CLIMATEGATE?” Well, stay tuned and we’ll see. It does look bad, though.

Ed Morrissey at Hotair: Hmm.

Andrew Bolt, Sydney Herald-Sun:

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.***

This has to be a forgery, surely. Because if it isn’t, we’re about to see the unpicking of a huge scandal.

I mean, the media will follow this up, right?

Right. See above. They’ve already got their best minds at work on it.

Gateway … Booyah! And double Booyah!

Malkin … Booyah!

Jawa … Burn something quick! For warmth! Booyah!

NRO’s Planet Gore … blue-dress Booyah!

*For incoming Brits, Australians, etal, “Booyah” is Yank slang that means, roughly, ”In your face” … ”Gotcha” … “I was right” … “Did it. Didn’t think I would, didja. But I did.” … ”I am superior to my adversary in all respects” … “I won.”  Should be pronounced accordingly. “Boooooo-Yah!”

The AGW crap has never been about science. It has always, and continues to be, nothing more than a device used by those who’ve given themselves over, heart, mind and soul, to an ideology that demands the destruction of The West and their manipulation of useful idiots to further their goals.

It’s interesting. The CRU (via BBC) seems to be saying that the email system was cracked, but the docs are more likely from somebody’s home dir.

But if a serious hacker hit it, he’d more than likely just tar/zip up the whole home dir – easier, and faster transfer.

    Inconsistency. It’s bothersome.
