Who doesn’t want to go to Tuscany? Watch out for the Raging Bull. Pretty well describes Tuscan Tony’s site but this about an animal. For those who prefer there Tuscan scenery less interactive, here’s another shot.
Hey, what happened to the Dissident Frogman? He was pretty much the only reason France still exists, as far as I’m [...]

JPost: Israeli general says Iran has crossed the nuclear threshold.
CNN: NKs warn against intercepting “satellite” launch. It’ll mean war if the aggressor interferes with peaceful intercontinental ballistic missile test, taking place during US-SK military exercises … kind of dangerous because those things fall short sometimes. Never mind the risk that friendlies might be under it. [...]

Powerline on foreign policy problems that stump even the smart. I hate to say it, but “Smart Power” sounds like a term climbing onto its own petard. It doesn’t help that a lot of Obama foreign policy ideas that weren’t Bush’s in the first place … seem kind of dumb.

Better late than never. It was World Toilet Day Nov. 19. I let it go at the time.* But now squatters are back in the news. The la-di-da loos of Times Square. AP via Boston Herald. I’m inspired:

According to this U.S. intellgence assessment, United States influence in the world won’t entirely go down the toilet under Obama. It will take until 2025. Let’s see, that’s four administrations. We’re going to have Democrats that long? Anyway, guess who we get to share with then in a “multi-polar” world. Reuters:

In foreign policy what-not-to-dos, this Newsweek article suggests … anything. Stay the course, await developments in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and North Korea … hey, almost makes it sound like the Bush administration’s been doing something right. Re Iran … there be dragons. And Newsweek reluctantly acknowledges, a first-do-no-harm policy may even include the hated Crusader Gulag at [...]

Palin meets with Karzai, Uribe and Kissinger in New York. Punches a foreign policy ticket ahead of her big debate with Old Hairplugs. Everyone’s favorite Obamist press agency makes it all about inexperience. Fair enough.

“Uncontacted tribe” sounds mysterious and exotic until you read down a little and discover they already got the message about civilization and stamped it “return to sender.” Zoom in for the “Beware of poison darts” sign and “If this village’s rockin’, don’t come knockin’” bumper sticker. Here’s National Geographic, for all your red- and black-painted, uncontacted savage news:
